Twistform Console Table, Shaped from One Solid Block

The base twists through a half turn on its way up, opening a tall almond shaped void in the middle and landing on a foot that spreads sideways across the floor. From the front it looks poised on one hip. The top is a slender slab with a soft live edge, wider at the left where it runs on past the twist and narrowing as it goes right. Grain wraps the twist in long parallel ribbons, walnut brown lifting to caramel where the surface turns toward the light.

Solid wood throughout, cut from stock rather than veneered over a former, and the figure is the board itself with no printed pattern involved. The twist is roughed with a saw, then carved and sanded by hand over several passes until the void reads clean from both sides. Every table starts after its order, so no two carry the same ribbons.
