Almost nothing touches the floor. A thin tapering slab floats on legs that flare out like roots, and a second slab hovers beneath it as an open shelf. Books and a tall vessel sit on top, a small framed print leans at the end, and the rest is negative space with shadow running underneath.
Carrying a span this thin takes real material, so the piece is built from solid wood blocks bonded into slabs and then sculpted down to a fine profile at the edges. The finish is kept close so the grain stays on view, including the deep rippled figure that runs along each leg. Made to order for you.
