Folded Ribbon Console Table with a Sculpted Loop Base

The form here is one continuous fold. A thick left panel turns under itself into a rounded loop that sits on the floor, then doubles back to carry a middle shelf and again to hold the top slab. Both slabs run to the right and stop in the air, so from the front you read two clean horizontal lines against a heavy vertical block. The grain sweeps around each bend, and the flat sawn figure across the panel face shows warm reddish streaks under lamplight.

Everything is solid wood, worked from thick stock rather than glued veneer or a printed surface. The loop is cut, rasped and sanded through several passes so the inside of the curve is as smooth as the outside. Because we only start after your order, the figure in your console is unique to the boards we set aside for it. Progress photographs come to you between stages and we wait for your reply.
