Cell Pod Bookshelf with Carved Organic Openings

The openings in this bookshelf look like pods pressed into a solid block, each one rounded at both ends and none quite matching its neighbour. Thin carved ledges bridge the right hand side to hold small book stacks and a vase, while the tall left pods take a framed print or a woven basket at floor level. The walnut is warm and light on the outer frame, darker inside the hollows where the carving goes deep.

The body is built from solid timber, thick blocks hollowed and smoothed until the inner walls flow into one another. No veneer, no printed figure. Each shelf is made to order, so the pattern of grain around your pods will differ from every other one we make. We send photos as the shaping progresses and wait on your approval before we continue.
