Bookcase on a Sculpted Sled Base in Solid Walnut

Stacked loops curl back on themselves and settle onto a sled base that lifts the whole body clear of the floor. Each loop opens on one side and closes on the other, so books face out from one bay and sit tucked into the next. The walnut grain runs long across the flat shelf faces and tightens through the bends. The silhouette leans and steps rather than sitting square.

Each loop is cut, shaped and sanded by hand from solid hardwood. No veneer covers it and no grain is printed on the surface. The build begins when your order comes through, so the pattern running across your shelves is drawn from the boards we open for it. Stage by stage photographs come to you for approval as the work goes on.

It travels disassembled. The base, the loops and the shelves are wrapped and boxed apart, which protects the curved edges and reduces freight cost.
