Burlform Study Desk, Shaped from Solid Figured Wood

The top is a wide board of heavily figured wood, the kind where the grain swirls back on itself around old growth and glows amber under a lamp. Its front edge is left in the natural line, rolling gently across the width. One end sits on a sculpted pedestal, a solid column pinched at the waist and spreading at the foot, while the other end is carried by a drawer cabinet whose outer side curves down to the floor.

The figure is in the wood itself, not a finish effect and not a printed sheet, and the pedestal is carved from solid stock rather than built up from panels. Surfaces are sanded through fine grits and finished thin so the swirl stays visible. Each desk begins after the order is placed, which means the pattern on your top exists on no other piece we make. You receive photos of each stage and approve them before work carries on.

Delivery is knocked down. Top, carved pedestal and drawer cabinet are packed as separate parcels to protect the shaped parts and to keep freight off the invoice.
