Hand-Carved Desk with Curled Scroll Base in Walnut

The top curves gently along its front, more kidney than rectangle, and it runs out over a scroll. That scroll is a long band of walnut rolled into a loop that opens toward the floor, with a hollow you can see straight through. At the other end an arched leg tapers down to a narrow foot. Figure across the walnut is strong, dark ribbons over warm brown.

Solid walnut, hand worked. The curve and the roll are cut and shaped from real stock, not printed film over board, and every surface is sanded until the grain flows unbroken around the bends. Each desk is made after the order, so your figure comes out of your own boards. Photos from the workshop reach you at each stage before the build carries on.

The desk travels flat and in parts. Top, arched leg and scroll base are separated and packed apart to protect the edges and keep the shipping bill down.
