Seen from the front the sides pull in at the middle and flare out again at floor and top, an hourglass held on its side. Two open bays stack inside that frame, both with generous rounded corners, and a solid rail runs between them. The top is a plain flat plane with a soft nose, wide enough for a lamp, a vase and a stack of books. The walnut is dark and glossy where the curve catches light.
The whole silhouette is cut and carved from solid walnut boards, then sanded until the inside of each bay feels as finished as the outside. Nothing is veneered over particle board and no grain is printed on. Building starts after your order, so the ribboning across the front belongs to your table alone.
Because the shape is long and hollow, it ships broken into parts rather than as one bulky crate. Each section is wrapped alone, which lowers the chance of damage and reduces shipping cost.
