The right side of this piece rolls in a continuous wave from top to bottom while the left side steps in and out, so each bay ends up a different depth and height. Four staggered shelves stack up the tower, holding a few upright books, some flat stacks and small pots. The wall of wood stays a steady thickness the whole way through the curve. Light travels along the ripple and picks out the grain running with it.
The wave is carved from solid wood rather than bent from thin sheets, and the same board carries through from one curve into the next. No veneer, no printed grain. We start after your order, so the figure along your ripple is particular to your unit. Stage photos come from the shop and the next step waits on your approval.
The tower ships in sections, each wave segment wrapped on its own so nothing presses against a curved face in transit, and the smaller cartons keep freight cheaper.
