Curved Arch Bookshelf in Solid Walnut Hardwood

One thick column rises on the left, bows outward, then curls over at the top into a shelf shaped like a wing. Five long boards cantilever from that column toward the right, each one tapering as it reaches out. A slot pierces the column near the top, which lets you see the wall through the wood. The grain in the photo climbs the arch in long stripes and turns almost black where the curve rolls away from the light, then warms back to red brown along the shelf faces.

The arch and the shelves are cut from solid hardwood, worked down with hand tools rather than pressed or wrapped. Nothing here is veneer and nothing is a printed pattern. Because we build only after your order comes in, the figure across your arch is decided by the boards we open for you. The workshop photographs the piece at each stage and sends those images over for your approval before moving to the next step.

Shipping is done in parts. The column, the shelves and the fixings go into the crate separately, which cuts the risk of a knock during transit and lowers the freight. Delivery is free worldwide, tracking is emailed when the piece leaves us, and returns are open for 30 days.
