Six drawers sit in a grid of three across and two down, each front flush with the next so the face reads as one field of walnut. Underneath, the case opens into a full width shelf deep enough for a lidded box, a pair of shoes or a run of books laid flat. The top has a low upstand at the back corners and rests on a recessed plinth, which makes the whole console look like it grows out of the floor.

All of it is solid wood cut from real boards, not veneer over board and not printed figure. The drawers are fitted individually so each one runs on its own line, and the fronts are laid out to keep the grain moving across the grid. Building starts once you order, so the pattern in your console belongs to your boards. Photographs from the workshop come to you between stages and nothing moves forward until you approve.
