About this piece
The whole table is one bold zigzag. A thick slab sits on top, folds down at a sharp angle, then runs back out along the floor as a base plate wide enough to hold the weight steady. Deep red brown grain sweeps through all three planes without changing direction.
Solid wood is joined into blocks, cut into thick planes and mitred at the folds so the figure carries from top to floor with no break in the pattern. The finish is a low sheen oil that deepens the colour slightly and leaves the surface honest to the touch. Each one is made to order.
The zigzag ships as separate planes, well padded, the only sensible way to move something this heavy without risking the mitres or paying twice the carriage. The parts bolt together in a set order, explained in the enclosed sheet. Ask us if a joint refuses to close.
