Thick Hardwood Blocks, Hollowed Into a Coffee Table

You can see straight through the base. Long oval openings are cut through both sides of a heavy carved body, so the table looks solid from a distance and hollow up close. The top is thick and slightly waved along its edge, sitting on a form that pinches in at the waist and spreads at the floor.

The body is built up from solid wood blocks joined into a block large enough to carve, then hollowed until the walls are even and the openings line up front to back. Finishing brings out a dark, restless grain that swirls through the legs and runs quieter across the top. Each block group carries its own figure, so the openings frame a different pattern in every table.

We cut yours only after the order is placed. It arrives with the top separated from the carved base and every shaped surface padded, which avoids damage in transit and keeps the crate small enough to ship affordably. The two parts join simply with the guide provided, and we will talk you through it if needed.
