About this piece

How do you carry a table top without legs at the corners? Here the answer is a figure eight of wood that folds under the surface, dips almost to the floor at the middle and rises again on both sides. The rounded rectangle above it is polished until the room reflects in it.

Blocks of solid timber are joined into one billet and the twisting form is cut away from that mass, so the grain flows across the whole base without a visible break. The top is finished to bring out the darker streaks in the wood rather than cover them. Each piece begins only after the order lands.

You will receive the sculpted base and the top in separate protective packing, the safest way to move a shape like this and a way to keep the freight bill down. Bringing them together is quick and the instructions are in the box. Write to us if you would rather have someone talk you through it.
