About this piece
Pale where most sculptural tables are dark. The top is a wide rectangle with corners rounded off by hand, and beneath it a single wave of wood dips to the floor, rises, and dips again, holding the slab on two points. Sunlight lands on the crest of that wave and slides off the underside.
It is made from solid wood blocks glued into one body and then carved, so the wave has no seam where a bend would normally show. The surface is finished light, which keeps the pale tone and lets the grain and the small dark knots stay part of the picture rather than something sanded away. The wood will warm a shade over the first year.
Made to order, one at a time. The top travels separately from the wave base, padded on every shaped face, both to protect the crest and to keep freight from costing more than it should. Setting the top on the base and securing it is quick and the steps are included. Ask us if anything resists.
