About this piece
Start with the base. Both pedestals have been hollowed right through, leaving open loops that let light and floor show behind them so a heavy table reads light. The top spreads wide above, free form on every side, with honey and toffee grain sweeping the length of it and a live edge kept along the front.
The top panel is jointed from solid wood blocks and worked flat, then the natural edges are stabilised and eased. Each pedestal is carved from thick stock, the opening cut and smoothed by hand until the inside curve feels as finished as the outside. An oil finish is rubbed in slowly, so the surface stays matte and the figure stays deep.
Nothing sits in a warehouse. The table is made once you order, at the size you specify. It comes apart into the top and two pedestals for transport, which keeps the carved openings safe and the shipping cost sane. Hardware and an illustrated guide are packed in, the build is short, and we help by message if you get stuck.
