Hand-Cut Faceted Coffee Table with Folded Wood Base

Angles do the work here. The top stays a clean rectangle while the base folds beneath it in two long triangular planes, leaving an open wedge you can see straight through. Solid hardwood blocks are jointed into thick panels, then each panel is cut and planed so the joins sit inside the geometry instead of running across it. Edges are worked by hand until the facets meet in a crisp line.
