Every line on this one is a curve. The rim rises and dips the way water does, the body folds under and loops back to the floor, and there is not a straight edge anywhere to be found on it.
The blank is built from solid wood blocks stacked and bonded, large enough that the whole wave can be cut from one mass instead of assembled from separate parts. Ribboned grain follows each fold rather than fighting it. Sanding takes the piece to a satin surface where the pattern, not the polish, is what you notice first.
Orders drive production here, which is why the figure on your table belongs to your table alone. It leaves in separated sections under heavy padding, the safer route for carved curves and the reason freight stays affordable.
