About this piece

Look along the front edge and you will see the same wave twice. Once in the free form outline of the top, once in the carved swell of the base underneath, with an arched gap of daylight running between them. The wood is a warm mid brown shot through with dark ribbon figure.

The piece is made from solid wood sections glued into blocks, then carved down until the flowing shape appears. Surfaces are sanded through the grits and sealed with a finish that leaves the timber open to the touch, so every ripple in the grain is something you can feel as well as see.

To keep the carved base safe on its journey, the table travels in two pieces inside heavy padding, which also keeps the shipping cost sensible. Assembly is a matter of seating the top and tightening the fixings, with instructions supplied. Our workshop team answers questions if you get stuck.
