Follow the front edge and you are following the outline of a tree. Two thick slabs sit one above the other, the upper one cantilevered out over the lower, both ending in a solid block that carries the weight straight to the floor. The gap between them is deep enough for a coffee brewer, a stack of plates or whatever the room actually needs.
These are solid wood blocks, glued face to face and then dressed back until the burl figure in the end block reads like a cross section of the trunk. The waney edge is left as it grew and simply smoothed, never trimmed straight for convenience. A hand rubbed finish keeps the amber and chocolate bands sharp instead of flooding them under gloss.
The console is cut for your order and leaves the workshop in parts, so the heavy slab and the block base travel separately and arrive without stress marks. You bring them together with the supplied hardware and the step by step sheet. Anything that feels stiff or unclear, write to us and we will help you finish it.
