Long Walnut TV Console on Tapered Legs with Open Cubbies

Count the openings before you count the drawers. There are cubbies along the upper row, three drawers below them, and a long shelf underneath that swallows the oversized art books nothing else will hold. It stands on slim tapered legs, so the whole case floats a hand's width above the floor.

The shell is the hard part. Laminations are bent around a form so the walnut can turn a tight radius at both ends without cracking, then the edges are hand fitted to the internal dividers until every shadow line runs even. Drawer fronts are cut from adjacent boards so the figure steps across them in sequence. Oil goes on in thin coats and is burnished back, which leaves the grain readable in raking light. Each console starts from raw stock after the order arrives.

Everything ships broken down into flat parts. The bent ends and the legs travel padded and separate, which is how they arrive without dents and why shipping stays affordable. Reassembly follows the numbered guide in the box and takes about as long as putting up a shelf. Questions during the build get answered by the people who made it.
