The leaf came first. A monstera is carved right through the door panel, veins raised and splits opened so light passes through the gaps and throws a second leaf onto the floor behind. Beside it the case stays quiet, two plain open shelves for books and remotes, letting the carving do all the talking.
The panel is worked from solid stock with gouges rather than routed from a template, which is why the veins swell and taper the way a real leaf does. The capsule shaped body is built up from laminated blocks and shaped down, then set on legs that branch like roots and are carved from the same timber family. A rubbed oil finish reaches into every cut and every undercut, so the wood keeps its warmth without going glossy. Carving time means each cabinet is begun only after the order lands.
Transport happens with the carved door removed and cushioned on its own, the body and legs boxed separately. That is the safest way to move something with this much open fretwork, and it keeps freight from ballooning. Fitting it back together is a short job with the included hardware and diagram.
