Chisel Carved Ripple Door on a Long Capsule TV Console

Rings spread out from a single point on the door, tightening as they reach the edges, so the front of the cabinet looks like the surface of water a second after something dropped into it. Late sun crossing the room lifts every ridge and drops a shadow behind it. The left half stays open, two shelves for whatever needs reaching.

Those ripples are cut, not pressed. A carver works the pattern into solid stock with chisels and gouges, following the ring lines by eye, then sands each crest without flattening the rhythm. The capsule body is laminated from thick blocks and shaped to a continuous radius, and the figured timber is chosen so the natural stripe reinforces the carved rings rather than fighting them. A penetrating oil finish soaks into the cuts and leaves the pattern readable by touch. Carving starts once your order is confirmed.

The carved front travels apart from the body, wrapped and cushioned so no ridge takes a hit, and the flatter cartons keep freight in proportion.
