About this piece

Hang this above a long sofa or a credenza and it does the work of a whole wall of art. The surface moves like fabric caught in wind, ridge after ridge of carved line rolling from the top corner down into calmer, wider curves near the base. Set a lamp low and to one side and the ridges throw long shadows across each other.

Two carved sections meet in the middle to form the full composition, each one built from solid wood blocks joined into a slab before shaping begins. The grooves are cut, then sanded by hand so the growth rings ride along the crest of every wave. The finish sits close to the wood and leaves the tone warm rather than glossy.

Because it ships in sections, the piece travels safely and freight stays sane. You mount a rail on the wall, hang each section, and align the seam. Everything needed comes in the box along with clear instructions, and if the wall gives you trouble our team will help you sort it out.
