Where the Sun Sits Down in the Surf, Round Wall Relief

Every frond carries its own carved spine, cut one at a time. Three palms lean in from the left with a fourth arcing across the right edge, a full sun disc rests low at the center, and carved rollers break across the bottom half of the circle. Behind it all, rays are cut into the sky and radiate out toward the rim.

The round panel is made from solid wood blocks joined into one blank, then carved at several depths so the palms stand forward of the sky and the waves fold beneath them. Every frond, trunk ring and wave crest is worked by hand, and the finish is sanded and oiled to a soft sheen that keeps the natural grain visible through the whole scene. It is carved to order.

The piece is sent in separate cushioned parts so the fine frond tips arrive as they left the bench, and that also keeps freight from being charged on one oversized crate. Hanging hardware and clear instructions are included, and the parts fit together quickly before mounting. If you would like guidance, our team will help.
