It reads like moving water before it reads like furniture. Currents of carved grain run left to right across the whole panel, folding over each other, pulling into a knot on the right side and opening into one large teardrop void toward the upper left. The darker timber gives the piece weight, so it holds a big wall on its own without needing anything hung beside it.
The panel is built from solid hardwood blocks joined into a single field, then carved through as one so the currents cross the joins seamlessly. Finishing is done to reveal the natural grain rather than cover it, which is why the ridges catch pale highlights while the hollows stay deep brown. Every piece is made to order, and the pattern in the timber makes each one its own.
Shipping happens in sections. It is the safest way to move a carved face this large and it keeps the freight bill down, and the pieces align on a concealed cleat once they reach the wall.
