About this piece

A pale, finely textured field sweeps down one side of this tall panel and meets a dark brown curve of layered contours, the two locking together like a tide line. A small round sun sits in the pale half. The contrast gives the piece a strong, balanced graphic shape.

The contours are carved by hand into solid hardwood, and the pale field is finished with a light texture to set it apart from the natural wood. The sun is carved as a raised disc. It is made to order, and the workshop sends photos as the halves come together.
