About this piece

Your eye goes to the middle first, to a dark oval where the wood is cut clean through, then travels outward along ring after ring of carved ripple. The rings never repeat exactly. They stretch on one side and bunch on the other, the way water behaves after something drops into it.

The panel is built from solid wood blocks joined into one square field, then each ring is carved by hand so the crests stay continuous around the opening. The finish is worked into the surface rather than laid over it, which keeps the grain visible right across the ripples. Pieces are made to order.

It comes to you disassembled so the ring crests are not risked in transit and the shipping stays proportionate. The parts locate with included hardware and a simple instruction sheet, and our team will step in if you get stuck partway. Hang it centered on a quiet wall and give it room to breathe.
