About this piece

In a big room this becomes the thing people talk about. Layer after layer of carved wave winds inward across a broad walnut face and finishes in a dark oval void set off centre, the way water turns before it drains. Above a long sofa it holds the whole wall on its own, no gallery arrangement needed.

The face is carved from solid wood blocks joined into one wide field, then relieved until the spiral flows unbroken from edge to edge. The finish is thin enough that the streaked walnut figure stays the pattern underneath the pattern. Nothing is pre made. Each panel is carved once your order is confirmed.

A piece this wide travels in sections, which protects the carved lips of the spiral and avoids an oversized crate. On the wall the sections align on their mounts and read as one uninterrupted surface. Written instructions ship with it, and our team can guide you through the hanging line if you want it dead level.
