About this piece
One long current runs the width of this panel, curls back on itself, and leaves two open voids where the wall shows through. Follow the curve from the left edge and it carries you across the whole piece without a break. The carving is deep enough that the shadows shift every hour.
Solid walnut blocks are joined edge to edge into one field, then cut away by hand until the current stands clear of the ground behind it. The finish is kept thin so the grain stays readable along the rolling faces. Each piece is carved to order, which means the figure you get was never made twice.
Delivery comes in sections rather than one enormous crate. That protects the slim carved bridges between the voids and keeps shipping affordable. The parts fit together with the hardware and instructions in the box, and help is available if you would rather not guess. It works over a sofa or along a dining wall.
