About this piece

Seen from the side, the base of this desk moves like a rope laid on the floor, curving out, turning back and lifting to meet the top. A two drawer box hangs under the left end with slim pulls set into the fronts. The top is a broad rectangle with a slightly restless front edge. Walnut runs golden across the surface and deepens toward the curves.

The desk is solid wood from top to foot, shaped by hand rather than pressed or wrapped. There is no veneer and no printed grain. Each one is made after the order is placed, so the run of figure in your top comes from boards opened for you. We photograph the piece at each stage of the build and send those images for you to approve first.

Delivery comes in parts. The top, the curved base and the drawer box are separated, wrapped and boxed individually, which protects the long curve and keeps the shipping cost down. Printed assembly instructions travel inside, and our team replies by email if anything is unclear. Free worldwide delivery on every order, tracking emailed at dispatch, and 30 days to send it back.

At each step we wait for your approval: only when you are happy do we move to the next stage, and the piece ships the same way. Until production starts, you can cancel at no cost.
