Sculpted Dune Curves, Square Walnut Wall Relief

Nothing in this square panel repeats. The surface rolls in long scooped curves that gather into ridges and then fall away again, closer to sand shaped overnight by wind than to anything drawn on paper. Turn the room lights down and the whole face changes, because each hollow holds a different amount of shadow.

The panel is built from solid blocks joined into one square field, then carved as a single continuous form so the curves cross the joins without breaking. Finishing brings out the walnut figure running underneath the sculpting, and the outer edge is left slightly irregular where the timber ended. Each one is carved to order, so the flow of the grain will differ from the photograph.

It ships disassembled to protect the carved ridges and to keep the crate compact. Assembly is straightforward and the fixings, along with clear instructions, travel with the piece. Should the wall or the alignment give you trouble, write to us and we will help you through it.
