Rising Plume Walnut Wall Sculpture with Layered Tips

There is real presence to this one. The flames fan out wide at one end like a plume caught halfway through rising, then twist into a tight braided knot at the center before releasing again into long curved tails. Backlight collects in the carved hollows and turns the whole shape warm.

It is built from solid walnut blocks joined into a single mass, then carved outward until the individual flames separate. The overlapping sections are shaped so each one sits at a slightly different depth, which is what gives the fan its layered look. Finished with a thin coat that keeps the grain open. Every one is carved to order.

It leaves the workshop disassembled, section by section, which protects the outer tips and avoids oversized freight. The sections are numbered and go up in a set order using the hardware and instructions in the crate. Give yourself a clear wall and a helper.
