The top shelf lifts on a curved tongue that stands proud of the wall. At the bottom the ribbon rolls into a foot that sits directly on the floor with no separate plinth. The walnut in the photo has a strong quarter-sawn stripe along the folds and turns satin where the curve catches the light. It reads narrow, so it fits a wall that would swallow a wider bookcase.

The ribbon and the shelves are cut from solid hardwood and shaped by hand. The folds are carved, which is why the thickness changes slightly through each turn instead of holding one machined dimension. No veneer over board, no printed grain film.
