About this piece
Light is what this piece is for. The pale oak face gathers into soft folds that look pulled toward three round openings cut clean through the board, and as daylight moves the folds fill and empty. In the afternoon the whole surface changes without anything actually moving.
It is carved from solid wood blocks joined into one wide field, then shaped until the cloth illusion holds across every joint. The openings are cut through and their inner walls smoothed by hand so they read as depth, not as holes. The finish leaves the grain plainly visible along each fold. Every piece is made once ordered.
The panel is wide, so it comes to you in sections, packed flat and safe rather than as one long crate. Joining the sections and setting them on the supplied mounts is simple work for two people. Written steps are included, and our team is available if the last section refuses to line up.
