About this piece

Long walls are the hard ones to furnish, and this piece is built for exactly that problem. The wave runs low and horizontal, wide enough to hold a stretch of empty plaster above a sofa or a sideboard without needing anything beside it. Scooped teardrop hollows break the surface and catch light from underneath.

Solid walnut blocks are joined and then hollowed by hand, so the dished areas keep the soft irregularity of carved wood rather than machine uniformity. The surface is finished thin, leaving the grain visible right through the deepest scoops. Made new for each order, with the figure falling wherever the boards decide.

Shipping happens in sections, packed flat and protected at the tips. It keeps the piece safe on a long journey and keeps the freight bill down. On arrival the sections mount in order along a level line, hardware supplied and instructions in the box. Ask us if you want help planning the spacing before you drill.
