Almost nothing happens in this panel, and that is the point. One man sits in a narrow boat with a rod out over the water, cut dark against a pale field of wood. Below him the surface breaks into fine parallel ripples and then into broad swirling grain that reads as current. Above, a few carved clouds drift across an otherwise open sky.

The boat and figure are set in a darker timber against a body built from solid wood blocks joined and shaped as one. Ripples are cut line by line, while the wide swirls are natural grain left exposed and simply lowered around. A soft matte finish holds the contrast between the two woods without adding shine. Each panel is carved after the order is placed.

It ships in sections so the thin carved lines stay protected and the freight stays practical. Assembly is a matter of joining the halves and hanging them from the supplied cleat, with the seam falling along the waterline where it disappears.
