Layered Contour Wall Art in Four Carved Panels

Four tall panels hang side by side and the carved contour lines run straight across the gaps, so the wall reads as one continuous landscape. Rings pull tight around a high point in the third panel, then loosen into long parallel bands at either end. Light rakes across the grooves, which means the piece looks like a topographic map at some hours of the day and like pure texture at others.

Each panel begins as solid wood blocks joined edge to edge, then the contours are cut in by hand until the deepest lines sit well below the surface. The outer edges keep their natural uneven line rather than being trimmed square. The finish is worked into the wood instead of laid over it, so the real grain stays readable under the carving and the honey and amber tones shift from panel to panel the way wood always does.

Every set is carved after you order, in the size you pick. The panels travel as separate parts, which protects the carved faces and keeps freight sensible, and they go up one at a time using the fittings and instructions in the box.
