Rolling ridges cross it the way wind-carved dunes cross a desert floor, rising into soft crests and dropping into shallow valleys, with one oval opening left off-center so the wall itself becomes part of the picture. The matte surface keeps the mood quiet rather than glossy.

It is made from solid hardwood, several blocks joined into one field and carved together so the ridges run through without interruption. The surface is finished lightly to keep the real grain showing, which is why the pale bloom on the high curves reads as timber and not as paint. Live edges along the top and bottom are cut, not applied. Each panel is made once you order it.
