Gouge-Carved Woman's Face, Sculpted Teak Wall Relief

Put this on a quiet wall and the room slows down. A face rests at an angle across the panel with the eyes closed, the cheek and jaw carved as broad smooth planes while the hair breaks into long angular sheets that fold back into the block. From a few steps away you read the whole portrait. Up close it dissolves into carved geometry.

Solid timber blocks are joined into one tall body of wood, then cut back layer by layer until the features emerge. The finish stays open enough for the grain to keep moving through the face, which is what gives the skin its warmth. Edges are left uneven where the blocks ended, and because each piece is carved to order the figure of the wood is never repeated.

Your panel travels disassembled so the thin carved sheets of hair are not put at risk, and so freight stays proportionate to the piece. Mounting hardware and an illustrated guide are packed alongside. If the panel sits on plaster or brick and you would rather check first, ask us before you drill.
