Daylight rakes across it and the depth shows immediately. Layer sits over layer, each carved band casting a soft shadow on the one beneath, so the wave looks like it is moving even when the room is still. A broad crescent hooks back at one end while tapered points trail off at the other.

The layers come from solid walnut blocks joined and then cut back by hand, one plane at a time. Deep channels between the bands are what create the shadow, so they are carved rather than routed to a uniform depth. The finish stays thin and matte, keeping the grain readable across the whole surface. Each order is made new.

Delivery comes in parts, packed to keep the fragile points safe and the shipping cost reasonable. Reassembly is simple: the sections mount in sequence, and the included instructions show the layout before you put a screw in the wall.
