About this piece

A darker board than most. The walnut here runs deep brown with red lifting through it under a lamp, and the front edge is left raw, split and pitted where the tree grew around damage. The top is long and low, wide enough to hold a stack of books at one end and still leave the middle clear. One end lands on a pedestal that flares out near the floor, cut in a slow curve from a single thick section. A three-drawer cabinet stands under the other end, its fronts flush and its pulls recessed.

Everything is cut from real hardwood boards, not veneer over panel. The pedestal is shaped by hand, working the curve down until light travels evenly across it. Because each piece is made to order after purchase, the split in your front edge and the figure in your drawer fronts belong only to your desk.

We ship it flat. Top, pedestal and drawer cabinet are packed as separate pieces, which protects the raw edge and cuts freight cost. Instructions for putting it together are printed and included in the crate, and our team is on email if a step gives you trouble. Shipping is free worldwide, and you have 30 days to return.
