Assembly & Care

Assembly. Each piece ships in parts for safe transit and assembles easily, with clear instructions and the hardware included.

Care. Dust weekly with a soft dry cloth. Once or twice a year, wipe on a thin coat of furniture oil and buff off the excess. Wipe spills promptly. Avoid silicone sprays and supermarket polishes.

Placement. Keep the piece away from active heating vents and constant direct sun, in a room with reasonably stable humidity. Full care guide

Shipping & Return

Shipping. Free on every order, worldwide. Estimated delivery is 12 to 17 business days: 7 to 10 to prepare your piece and 5 to 7 in transit. Orders placed after 5:00 PM PST are processed the next business day. Tracking is emailed within 1 to 2 business days of dispatch.

Changes. To change or cancel an order, email hello@burlholt.com within 6 hours of placing it.

Returns. Return an unused piece within 30 days of delivery, in its original condition and packaging with all hardware. We cover return shipping for items that are defective, damaged in transit or incorrect. Custom or personalized pieces cannot be returned. Approved refunds are processed within 2 business days of inspection.

About this piece

The front of this desk curves inward in a long cove, and the whole of that curve is the raw edge of the tree, filled with dark bark pockets and pale voids that catch the light. Behind it the surface opens into a wide working plane with the grain sweeping from left to right. A solid panel carries the left end to the floor, while the right end sits on a two drawer cabinet with slot pulls.

Everything you see is real wood in the solid, cut from one run of timber so the top, the panel leg and the drawer fronts hold the same tone. The cove is shaped and sanded by hand, and the bark line is kept rather than cleaned away, because it is the reason the piece looks the way it does. Nothing is made in advance, so your cove is unique to your slab. Photos are sent at every stage for approval.

The desk ships in parts, with top, panel leg and drawer cabinet boxed separately. That keeps the fragile edge protected and holds shipping cost down. A printed assembly sheet is packed in the crate, and our team answers questions by email. Free worldwide delivery on every order, tracking emailed at dispatch, and 30 day returns.
