Assembly & Care

Assembly. Each piece ships in parts for safe transit and assembles easily, with clear instructions and the hardware included.

Care. Dust weekly with a soft dry cloth. Once or twice a year, wipe on a thin coat of furniture oil and buff off the excess. Wipe spills promptly. Avoid silicone sprays and supermarket polishes.

Placement. Keep the piece away from active heating vents and constant direct sun, in a room with reasonably stable humidity. Full care guide

Shipping & Return

Shipping. Free on every order, worldwide. Estimated delivery is 12 to 17 business days: 7 to 10 to prepare your piece and 5 to 7 in transit. Orders placed after 5:00 PM PST are processed the next business day. Tracking is emailed within 1 to 2 business days of dispatch.

Changes. To change or cancel an order, email hello@burlholt.com within 6 hours of placing it.

Returns. Return an unused piece within 30 days of delivery, in its original condition and packaging with all hardware. We cover return shipping for items that are defective, damaged in transit or incorrect. Custom or personalized pieces cannot be returned. Approved refunds are processed within 2 business days of inspection.

About this piece

Rays break outward from the cross in every direction, cut as fine parallel grooves that widen into broad rolling folds toward the edges. Down in the lower right corner the lines coil into a small vortex, the kind of detail you find on the second or third viewing. The cross is recessed into the wood rather than raised off it, which gives it depth without any hardware or applied ornament.

Solid wood blocks are joined and then carved, and the burnt umber and caramel bands you see running through the piece are the timber's own figure brought up by the finish. The perimeter is left with a natural rippled edge, so no two pieces end at exactly the same line. Nothing about the surface is printed, laminated, or pressed.

Work begins on your piece once the order is placed, at the size you select. It travels in parts to protect the carved face and to keep shipping reasonable, and assembly is short and clearly documented, with all fixings in the box. Anyone who prefers a hand can reach our support team and get walked through it.
