Bookshelf with Wavy S-Curve Side Panels in Walnut

Two side panels do all the work here. Each one is carved into a long wave that pulls in at the waist and swells again toward the floor, and the four shelves span between them at a slight tilt so the whole cabinet leans away from square. The base curves upward in a shallow arc rather than sitting flat. In the photo the grain reads as tight vertical stripes down the panels and then spreads into broad flame figure across the shelf boards. It stands about chest height, deep enough for hardbacks laid flat.

Both panels come out of solid hardwood, shaped by hand until the wave holds a steady thickness all the way down. There is no veneer wrapped around a core and no printed grain. We cut into your boards only after the order arrives, so the wave on your left panel and the wave on your right will never repeat on another piece. Stage photographs come to you from the workshop for approval before the next step begins.

Shipping happens in parts. Panels, shelves and base go into the crate separately so the curved edges are not carrying weight during transit, and the smaller volume brings the freight cost down.
