About this piece
This one runs almost the full width of the wall. Long shelves stretch out from a carved wing frame, each thinning to a point at the far end, with pointed voids opening between them. The upper shelves take rows of upright books, the middle one holds a framed print and dark pottery, and the bottom shelf carries stacks laid flat. Grain follows every arm along its length and reads warm brown against a dark wall.
The wing is made from solid hardwood, cut and carved rather than bent or moulded. There is no veneer over board and no printed figure anywhere on it. Work begins once your order comes through, which means the grain across your piece follows the boards picked for it. You get photos from the bench at each stage and nothing moves forward until you say so.
Because it is large, we ship it in separate carved sections packed one by one. That protects the long tapered tips and avoids the cost of a single oversized crate.
