Wood Bar Stools: Buying Guide

This collection holds one idea: a wooden bar stool should outlast the trend that made you buy it. Each one is a solid wood seat and leg frame, joined not bolted through a metal base, cut from solid stock and finished by hand.

Getting the wooden bar stool right for your space

Fit the room first

Most pieces in this collection are sized for the kitchen island or home bar. Measure the wall or floor space you can give the piece, then check it against the largest dimension listed on the product page. Each size shows its own price, so you can compare before you commit.

Worth knowing before you order

Measure your counter height before ordering. Stool height is fixed once made, unlike an adjustable metal stool.

Care takes one line

Dust with a soft cloth and condition the wood with a light coat of furniture oil once or twice a year. Small marks buff out over a weekend, and the surface only looks better for the use.

What the collection covers

The designs run from backless to with backrest and swivel seat pieces, all cut from the same solid stock. If you are building the whole room around wood, the same grain and construction run through our wood spice racks and wood bar tables, so the space can carry one idea from wall to wall.

The case for solid wood

The honest comparison is simple. Particle board with a printed skin cannot be repaired, only replaced. A solid hardwood wooden bar stool can be sanded, re-oiled and handed down. One is a purchase cycle. The other is a purchase.
