Chairs here are built frame first. Legs and rails meet at the mortise instead of being screwed up through the seat, and each one is cut after your order arrives, so the grain belongs to the board it came from.
Seat heights run 16 to 18 inches on a 14 inch width. Sixteen sits low for lounge use, eighteen works under a standard dining table. The same sizes come in black, oak, brown and walnut. Dining chairs are bought in fours and sixes, an accent chair is a single seat for a reading corner, rocking chairs need clear floor behind them, and armless side chairs push fully under a table.
Worth knowing before you order: on upholstered versions the wood frame is the part that lasts, so read the fabric spec separately if the chair takes daily use. Dust with a soft cloth and condition the wood with a light coat of furniture oil once or twice a year. Solid wood wears in over time, and small marks can usually be buffed out.
