Wood Dining Tables
Each table here is a solid wood top on a joined base, built to carry a full table of seating without flexing. The top is selected and worked after your order comes in. As the boards are prepared and the base is joined, the workshop sends photographs of each stage so you can see the grain and character of your own top before it is finished.
Two lengths are offered: 59" and 71", both 34" deep and 30" high. The 59" seats six and fits most standard dining rooms. The 71" seats eight and suits an open plan kitchen or a dedicated dining room. Allow 36" of clear space on every side for chairs to pull out and for people to walk behind them. Finishes are black, oak, brown and walnut. The forms answer different questions: a rectangular top gives the most seats per foot, a round table makes conversation easier at smaller numbers, an extension leaf covers occasional guests without living large every day, and a live edge top keeps the board's natural outline as the room's main feature.

Most pieces in this collection come in several sizes, with exact dimensions and a price for each size on the product page. Measure the spot in your dining room or kitchen first, then check the largest dimension against it before you commit.

A solid top this size moves the most of any piece in the house with the seasons. A stable room matters more here than anywhere else.

How do I care for the wood?+
Dust with a soft cloth and condition the wood with a light coat of furniture oil once or twice a year. Solid wood wears in over time, and small marks can usually be buffed out.

How to choose the right wood dining table
Seats follow length
A 60 inch table seats six without elbows touching. At 72 inches you host six with room to spare or eight at a squeeze, and a 96 inch top handles eight to ten. Buy for the dinners you actually hold, not the one holiday a year.
The 36 inch clearance rule
Leave at least 36 inches between the table edge and the nearest wall, so a chair can slide back and a person can walk behind it. Measure the room first and let that number cap the table size.
Round tables for tighter rooms
A round top on a pedestal base seats more people per square foot, because there are no legs at the corners and no corners at all. It also keeps conversation even, since nobody sits at the head.

A veneer piece is a photograph of wood glued over particle board. It looks right for a year or two, then an edge lifts and there is nothing underneath worth repairing. Solid wood is the same material at the surface and at the core:
- Scratches and rings sand or buff out, because the grain continues below the surface.
- Joinery is cut into the wood itself, so the structure tightens with care instead of loosening with age.
- The piece can be refinished decades from now and come back looking new.
