Benches
Every bench here is a single piece seat carried on a joined frame. There is no storage box below and no hollow shell inside, which is why the curved and wave shapes keep their line. Cutting starts once the order is in.
Seats sit 16 inches high and 14 inches deep, in widths of 47 or 55 inches. Sixteen inches is low enough to pull boots on without stooping. Take 47 inches for a tight entry or the foot of a bed, and 55 inches when the hallway can carry it. The entryway bench is the workhorse by the door, the hallway bench runs narrower against a passing wall, and the plain seat versions read as sculpture when nobody is on them. Choose from black, oak, brown or walnut.
Know this first: a backless bench is a short sit piece, good for shoes, bags and a waiting guest, not for an evening of reading. For long seating the sofa collections suit better. Is this solid wood or veneer?+
Every wooden bench here is a solid wood bench, single-piece seat on a joined frame, no storage box. There is no veneer, no MDF and no particle board anywhere in the build.
Do these come in more than one size?+
Most pieces in this collection come in several sizes, with exact dimensions and a price for each size on the product page. Measure the spot in your entryway or hallway first, then check the largest dimension against it before you commit.
What should I check before placing an order?+
A plain bench without a back is a short-sit piece. For long seating, look at the sofa or daybed collections instead.
How will I know when my order ships?+
Production starts once you place the order. You get a tracking email the moment your piece leaves the workshop, and delivery is free worldwide.
What does the warranty cover?+
Every piece carries a 10 year structural warranty on the frame and joinery. Separate from that, you have 30 days to return it in full if it does not suit the room.
Will it need much upkeep?+
Dust with a soft cloth and condition the wood with a light coat of furniture oil once or twice a year. Solid wood wears in over time, and small marks can usually be buffed out.

Choosing a wooden bench that fits
Seat height around 18 inches
A bench for putting on shoes wants a seat close to chair height, around 18 inches. Much lower and guests hover awkwardly instead of sitting.
Two feet per person
Count roughly 24 inches of bench length per seated adult. A 48 inch bench seats two comfortably at the door or at the foot of a bed.
Storage earns the floor space
A lift top or under-seat shelf turns the entry bench into the place shoes and bags actually live, which is the difference between a tidy hallway and a decorated one.

Why solid wood, not veneer
Flat pack furniture is priced for the day you buy it. Solid wood is priced for the decades after. The difference shows up in three places: marks buff out because the grain runs deep, joints hold because they are cut into the timber rather like a lock and key, and the whole piece can be refinished when tastes change instead of replaced.
